On My Mind

On My Mind

SYNOPSIS

On My Mind is Saskatchewan’s first indigenous television drama series and received the 1996 award for Best Drama at Saskatchewan Showcase, as well as two Gemini nominations in 1996.

On My Mind celebrates the private world of eight-to-eleven year old children. Love, revenge, friendship, betrayal and hormones are explored in this unique series where children are always the stars.

On My Mind is something new – stories about children that treat their lives seriously, but see the funny side to everything. Set in a city neighbourhood where a myriad of social, cultural and economic groups come together, On My Mind follows the lives of a group of children who share a run-down brick school and a teacher who cares. They share the small triumphs and tragedies of their lives: a boy too weak to face a schoolyard bully is befriended by an imaginary superhero dressed in spandex and leather; a young tomboy who longs to be one of the girls ends up in trouble with the law; a boy who shares a secret with a tank of goldfish learns he has to cope with life as it is.

On My Mind champions an age of innocence and discovery by portraying ordinary kids whose extraordinary actions makes them heroes in their own small way.
